As we prepare to resume worship in the Sanctuary, the following guidelines for worship have been developed so that the congregation of Pilgrim Lutheran Church can worship safely and reduce the risks of spreading or contracting COVID-19.

Prior to Sunday
1. Everyone is asked to please register to attend worship by signing up through our email announcement. Having trouble? You can also email the office directly ( Space will be limited and this will help us determine if we need to consider an additional service.

Sunday Worship
1. Take a health assessment before leaving home.

  • All employees, members and guests are requested to please take your temperature before coming to church. Anyone with a temperature of 99 degrees or above is asked to please stay home and worship with us online. (We have a no-touch thermometer available at church should you need one.)
  • Are you currently sick with any of the following symptoms? Fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, nausea, or diarrhea? If you can answer yes to any of these symptoms, please stay home.
  • Any person with a household member who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or with any symptoms of COVID-19 (including a fever above 99) is asked to please stay home.
  • If you are not feeling well in any way, we ask that you please stay home and worship with us online.
  • Doors will be left open to help provide adequate circulation and ventilation, so dress warmly.

2. Arriving at church.

  • When parking, please leave adequate space between your vehicle and others in the lot.
  • Please wear a mask from the time you leave your vehicle until you return to your vehicle after worship. (Masks will be available should you need one.)
  • Please maintain safe social distancing (6 feet +) the entire time you are on church property.
  • Please enter the church through the main front doors only.
  • To cut down on areas that will need to be sanitized after use, there will only be access to the sanctuary, narthex, and narthex restrooms. All other areas of the building are temporarily off limits.
  • When entering the sanctuary, please move forward to the first available pew. The pews will be marked to insure a safe six-foot distance between members. Households will be seated together. Please follow all directions provided by the ushers.
  • Please place any offerings in the plate on the back counter.

3. During Worship

  • Masks must remain in place throughout the service.
  • Singing will be allowed with a mask only.
  • To cut down on high-touch items, you will notice items have been removed from the pews, i.e. attendance folders, Bible, prayer cards, etc.
  • Communion may be omitted or look different for a time.
  • There will not be any nursery services available at this time.

4. After Worship

  • We will dismiss from the back to the front of the church. Please follow instructions as provided.
  • Please exit the church through the main front doors only.
  • Notify the church office if you receive a positive COVID-19 test result within 7 days of attending a worship service. Your name will be kept anonymous unless required for reporting to the Health Department.
