Pilgrim Prayer Challenge – Week Three

5 Weekly Encouragements for Praying Pilgrims!

3. Prayer: An Act of Worship

“The heavens declare the Glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
Psalm 19:1

Do you ever get stuck on where to start with prayer? Do you ever find yourself jumping right into a long list of appeals to God for this, that, and the other? Do you ever feel your mind wandering after a mere 20 seconds of prayer?

Start your prayers with praise. Acknowledge who God is – to you personally. Dwell on His character; His nature. Still get stuck finding the right words? Take a hint from the verse above and look up; look around. God’s glory is written on His creation – in the sky, in the mountains, in the faces of those sitting near you. He is good, He is mighty, He is powerful, He is merciful, He is love, He is healer, He is Savior, He is just, He is present, He is faithful and He is truth.

It’s week three of the prayer challenge! Don’t give up now! Start your prayers with praise today.

**Helpful Hint: Some find it helpful to follow an order of prayer with a simple acronym: ACTS. (A=Adoration; C=Confession; T=Thanksgiving; S=Supplication) Give it a try!
